Things weren’t always this way, however. Before Don Facundo Bacardi founded his distillery in the late 19th century, white rums were widely considered inferior to their browner counterparts. It took ten years of experimentation and dedication to the craft to create a rum that would undo that perception, and establish white rum as a force to be reckoned with!
