The Haig dynasty first commenced distilling during the 17th century, when it was still frowned-upon to distil alcohol on the Sabbath. The line has been responsible for a slew of whisky-making innovations in the time since then, with the continuous still being designed by the uncle of John Haig, Robert Stein.
Today, the Haig brand has been re-invented for a new generation, and this bottle sits at the forefront of a new push for contemporary grain whisky. It's a must-try for both purists and adventurers!
Tasting Notes
The nose is deceptively complex, with notes of crumble, millionaire's shortbread, grass, cardamom and Turkish delight. In the body you'll find toffee and vanilla with supporting oak notes, while the finish combines praline with cinnamon and a little ginger.
