It’s been aged for eighteen years, fifteen of which are spend in American white-oak casks, until a portion of the whisky is diverted to spend a further three years in a Spanish Oloroso cask. When the full total is finished, the two are re-united to create this eye-popping scotch. The two casks each lend distinctive qualities to the whisky they carry: the nuttiness of the American oak helps to keep the sweetness of the sherry in check, while the oloroso helps to lend the spirit a decidedly floral quality. Tasting Notes
You’ll get a hint of dried fruits and flora in the aroma, while more distinctive malty qualities come in for the body, which hints at subtle wood-smoke, figs and dates.
